Famous for 'Dennis' and other habituated resident dugongs, Lamen Bay on Epi Island and Aese Island off Espiritu Santo offer genuine in-water encounters with locally protected dugongs. Some traditional villages have placed 'tabu' (taboo) zones to protect them. A true off-the-beaten-path experience.
