A small population of dugongs lives in the seagrass beds around Calauit and Dimipac islands, off northern Palawan. Accessed as a day trip from Coron/Busuanga, snorkel-with programmes operate with local guides and strict no-touch rules. Sightings are less reliable than in Egypt or Australia but the turquoise lagoon scenery makes up for it.
