A southern, genetically isolated population of around 900 endangered belugas lives year-round in the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park. Observations are strictly land-based or from boats maintaining a minimum distance — no swimming or approach is permitted. Best land-based views are from Pointe-Noire and Cap-de-Bon-Désir. Often combined with minke, fin, and blue whale sightings.
