Watch northern royal albatrosses soar in and land at the clifftop of Taiaroa Head, at the tip of the Otago Peninsula near Dunedin, the only mainland breeding colony of the species in the world. From the observatory you watch the huge birds, with wingspans over three metres, soar in and land at the clifftop. The colony is active most of the year, with the summer months from November to February the busiest.
