About Fauneya
Fauneya is an interactive map that shows where and when to observe wildlife across the planet: from whale sharks and humpback whales to brown bears, wolves and ibex. One place to plan the right animal, at the right spot, at the right time of year.
Our mission
Wildlife moves with the seasons, and so should the way we plan to see it. Fauneya brings together the best observation spots worldwide, the months each species is actually present, and the realistic chance of a sighting, so anyone can turn a vague dream into a concrete, well-timed trip.
How it works
Every species on Fauneya is mapped to real observation zones, each with its active months, sighting probability and access details. Filter by animal, browse by country, or explore the map month by month to see what's around at any given time of year.
Responsible by design
Fauneya only lists places where animals can be observed in the wild, on their own terms. We favour national parks, reserves and recognised viewing areas, and we describe the effort and access honestly, because the best wildlife encounters are the ones that respect the animal first.
A living project
New species, spots and destinations are added regularly, and our blog shares field guides and practical tips. Fauneya is built by a small independent team: if you spot an error or want to suggest a place, we'd love to hear from you.
