The easternmost point of the Arabian Peninsula hosts one of the Indian Ocean's largest green turtle nesting grounds, with around 30,000 females laying eggs here each year — 50-60 nesting on the beach on any given peak night in July-August. Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve runs strictly controlled dawn and evening viewings with a dedicated ecolodge. Loggerheads, hawksbills, and leatherbacks also use the wider Omani coast.
