Snorkel amid fevers of thousands of mobula rays in the Sea of Cortez off La Ventana, Baja California, one of the ocean's great spectacles. Each spring the small munkiana devil rays gather and leap clear of the water in vast schools, and snorkellers slip in from pangas to hover as the shimmering clouds sweep past. The fever runs from April to July, best from mid-May to early June.
