The only place on Earth where sperm whales are resident year-round and where swimming with them is legally permitted under strict government permit. Around 200 whales in matrilineal 'units' of females and calves live along the deep western drop-off. Only snorkeling is allowed (no scuba), in small groups, with licensed operators. Peak season November to March.
