Known simply as 'The Gathering' — one of Asia's largest wildlife congregations. Hundreds of Asian elephants gather around the ancient Minneriya Tank during the dry season (July-September), a spectacle second only to Africa's wildebeest migration in terms of mass wildlife concentration. Herds sometimes shift to nearby Kaudulla depending on water levels.
