About This Spot
The Pacific whitespotted eagle ray (Aetobatus laticeps) is a regular passerby at Galapagos dive sites, especially around Santa Cruz, Floreana and the northern islands of Darwin and Wolf. Often seen gliding in small squadrons near volcanic drop-offs, with Eastern Tropical Pacific upwellings bringing abundant marine life.
