The stronghold of the endangered Grevy's zebra — the largest and rarest zebra species, with narrow stripes and prominent ears. Only around 3,000 remain worldwide, mainly in Samburu, Laikipia and Lewa. A 'Samburu Special Five' target alongside reticulated giraffe and Somali ostrich.
