Known locally as Zambezi sharks, bulls patrol Protea Banks year-round with the highest numbers in summer. Deep drift dives on the Southern Pinnacles are the classic setting. Aliwal Shoal (70 km north, near Umkomaas) also hosts bull sharks, especially during the sardine run.
